Priest River Residence
Location: Priest River, ID / Size 5,000 s.f.
Scope of Work: Architecture and Interior Design
Description: With its 180-degree views, this midcentury-inspired home sits low and unassuming, nestled within the landscape, looking over the Pend Oreille River and Selkirk Mountains. The native basalt stone and whitewashed cedar of the exterior can be sourced within a few miles of the site and gives the home a timeless feel. The butterfly roof sits above a near-continuous band of clerestory windows, eliminating the need for interior lighting in the core of the house during the day. This sleek design utilizes natural light to add warmth while optimizing energy efficiency.
