Stilt House
Type: Residential
Location: Sagle, Idaho
Scope of Work: Architecture & Interior Design
Description: This Japanese and mid-century inspired stilt house was designed as a complementary guest house companion to another ground-up residence and is actually a ātear-down renovationā of an existing dilapidated structure. To maintain the āgrandfathered-inā status of the original boathouse, the old structure was dismantled down to the steel piers with the new structure rising off of those in the exact footprint of the original. This boathouse blends a rugged industrial feel with modern lines to create a refined river getaway. The exterior cedar was harvested and manufactured within 50 miles of the site.
