Description: As a historic Spokane landmark, this 76,000 square foot, 4-story building had sustained many poorly planned alterations throughout its history. Untangling the web of dated codes and bad remodels was the right direction towards an efficient, contemporary, and well-thought-out experience. The new design infused efficient spaces to accommodate all new building systems as well as common and private areas such as a gym, conference rooms, bike storage, mailroom, laundry room, community rooms, and other "student housing" type amenities. This was accomplished all while preserving the original, historical exterior, which you may recognize from the 1993 film, Benny & Joon.
