Josh Hissong and Armando Hurtado, two designers who believe the places people work, live, and play in can transform their experience, launched HDG in 2010. They built the business with a team of passionate professionals, growing it into a multidisciplinary firm that seamlessly integrates architecture, interior design, material procurement, and graphic design. This holistic approach allows us to create cohesive, well-executed projects from concept to completion.
Our clients are at the core of everything we do. Every project is an opportunity to push creative boundaries while staying rooted in what matters most—delivering thoughtful, high-quality design that enhances people’s lives.
Since 2010, we’ve completed over 800 projects, spanning residential remodels, ground-up commercial and residential developments, and everything in between. Through it all, we’ve remained committed to refining our process and elevating the client experience. None of this would be possible without the incredible talent and dedication of our team. We’re grateful to work alongside some of the best architects, designers, studio administrators, and industry partners—collaborators who make what we do not just possible, but truly rewarding.
Our fees are typically based on a percentage of construction cost and vary depending on project type, size, complexity, and expected timeframes. Our fees are also on par with industry standards. We openly share the “who, how, and why” related to our fixed fee. It is our job to listen and capture everything you share about your project. Our fixed fee will not “creep” unless you decide to substantially change the size, complexity, timeframe, etc. If we missed something you shared with us, that change is on us! No questions asked! If we’ve done our job, we will have created a cohesive and well-appointed design with an accompanying set of construction directions for your builder. Every design is integrated with all required engineering to provide a cohesive , functional, safe, and aesthetically coordinated environment for home or work. Our goal is to create an experience from the minute you walk in our door at HDG to the moment you walk into your new space. We have a creative team of Architects and Interior Design Rockstar’s, geeky (but super cool) engineers, and landscape gurus to make it all happen.
